Meet the Artist Series: Nancy Teague

It’s hard to believe this year is coming to an end. But you know what’s not coming to an end? Our Meet the Artist Series! This installment features Nancy Teague, who has been with us at the gallery for a little over five years.

Nancy grew up in Sidney, a small town in the Nebraska panhandle. Of her childhood she recounts that “opportunity abounded to play outside, imagine, and roam.” Her parents were very encouraging of her artistic inclinations as they began to take shape at an early age. Although it wasn’t until she was in her twenties, while working as an art teacher and frequenting local art shows, that she realized she could begin a life as a professional artist. And as she puts it, “the rest is history.”

As of late, she says her “abstracts seem to be evolving into more intrigue and depth through the addition of mark-making and brush-work. It has brought more to be experienced and discovered in the work and they feel more lively and fun.”

Nancy’s work is featured in collections nationwide, including:

Fair Haven – Birmingham, AL

Liberty Hospital – Liberty, MO

KSU College of Business – Manhattan, KS

Farm Credit Services of Nebraska – Omaha, NE
